Does anyone have information on when these judges are planning to hire alums/graduating 3Ls?
Tatel is accpeting applications now for 2009.
Is there a sanction from the on-plan DC judges if you broke the plan and interviewed early elsewhere? I.e. If you interview with a judge in June and don't get the job, then interview on-plan w/DC Circuit judges, do they ask whether you broke the plan and, if so, sanction you for it?
The plan applies to judges, not candidates
Does this mean Tatel is accepting only non-plan applicants for 2009, or is he accepting rising 3L applicants as well?
OSCAR says Garland is accepting clerkships May-September in the column on the right of the webpage, but says applications should arrive at the courthouse ON September 3, 2008. Any idea which date is correct? Thanks!
Judge Garland is on the committee that manages "the plan" so it's a reasonable bet that he's following it, which would make the 9/3 date correct for rising 3Ls.
I heard Judge Anderson is interviewing.
Williams hired a Chicago '08 for 2009
Williams hired a Boalt '08 for 2009 during the last interviewing season.
Williams hired Yale '08 in the last hiring season for 2009.
Any recent movement, for alumns in particular?
rogers hired a stanford '08 grad
Garland hired a Michigan grad
Anything going on in the DC Circuit?
griffith has been reviewing applications for grads.
Has Griffith started making calls to grads he wants to interview yet?
I submitted to Griffith a while ago and haven't heard anything. Anyone else hear?
OSCAR says Rogers is filled for 2009-10. Has anyone heard the same thing from a human source?
I've got offers from Griffith and Kavanaugh, what should I do? I'm so conflicted.
you should go to hell. really.
The type of comment proffered by September 6, 2008 3:43 PM is pathetic. It does not contribute to the objective or purpose of this blog. It should be ignored in toto.
Anything?
any reports of anybody calling?
Complete Silence
Sentelle has started calling for interviews. Any others?
Both Griffith and Sentelle were calling just after noon EDT.
Brown, Garland, Kavanaugh, Tatel, and Williams all called around noon as well.
Rogers?
2:06 -- how do you know? Did you get calls from all of them?
Can someone provide stats of those receiving calls?
2:06 here. I know of people who have received calls from all of the judges listed. I'm not sure what you mean by stats; I'm not going to post people's GPAs.
In any case, D.C. Circuit judges always call right at noon. If you haven't heard anything, you're not going to.
2:26--as noted above, Rogers is full already, so she's probably not making calls.
What about for 2010?
Any word on Ginsburg?
ginsburgs done (calling, not hiring)
Randolph set up at least one interview today.
Rogers or Henderson?
Oops, got Rogers. Did Henderson call?
Does anyone know if judges are adhering to the new rule that interviews can't begin before 8 am? Have you heard of anything starting beforehand?
Does Griffith make exploding offers to 3Ls?
Yes, Griffith has been known to make exploding offers to 3Ls.
Garland hired 2 from HLS and 1 from YLS.
Tatel hired 1 from SLS and 1 from Duke.
Both are now full.
Kavanaugh is full--2 from Yale, 1 from Harvard.
Ginsburg hired one from Texas.
Ginsburg hired one from Texas, one from NYU and one from Harvard. I'm not sure of the 4th.
Anyone know if Henderson is done?
Who did Randolph hire?
Ginsburg's fourth is a Chicago guy
OSCAR just sent notification that Garland has opened up a new clerkship for 2010. I thought he followed the plan?
1:19 - This doesn't mean he does or does not follow the plan. Plan only applies to 3Ls, not grads. So for the 10-11 term it applies only to the class of 2010. Posting a 10-11 clerkship now means he will accept applications from grads now.
Griffith is done.
Shhh the D.C. Circuit is sleeping...
Are there any DC Circuit Judges who are still contacting interviewees or is that long done?
Any word on Lance?
What's an "exploding offer"?
"exploding offer" is an offer that expires (i.e., explodes--BOOM) if you don't accept it (or within a time that does not allow you to explore other options).
BOOM!
For those who don't know, Law Clerk Addict is covering the 2010-11 cycle, and has a notifications section as well as a section devoted to the D.C. Circuit.
