Fish (NDTX) and Kent (SDTX) are not hiring for 2009.
I am new at this, so take what I say with a grain of salt, but it doesn't look like there was a lot of action in a lot of the district courts (based on activity on this site). The circut courts however seem to have blown up.
I hate the plan. Texas judges don't seem to be calling, but everyone else is. Thus, interviews must be scheduled, offers given, and one becomes committed to a second choice. Inevitably, right after Texas calls (or schedules the interview after your first). They should rename "Prisoner's Dileman" "Law Clerk's Dilema."
Rainey (SDTX) called and scheduled interviews. Not sure what the deal is with the rest of the St. Apparently people in S. Texas are having issues scheduling out-of-staters because of worries about Ike.
Clark interviewed but has not hired. Heartfield has not interviewed. Several of the Houston judges had interviews scheduled on the 11th, but with Ike, who knows when they'll finish hiring.
Move it away from Mexico. Or convince the cartels to stop putting peoples' heads on spikes just across the border. Either of those would be a step forward.
Hoyt is still reviewing applications (hasn't contacted anyone). Hittner has not yet begun interviewing. Harmon is going to interview early next year for her 09-10 clerk and has just opened up applications for a 1 year 1 beginning in about a month.
I know Judge Solis has the Holy Land re-trial in his court right now, so that could be why it appears no one has heard back from him. Is there anyone who interviewed with him that have accepted other offers or heard back?
That is a good question (see post above). I interviewed and have not heard anything back. May be we could get an idea of how many people interviewed with Solis and are waiting to hear back. Count me as 1.

Fish (NDTX) and Kent (SDTX) are not hiring for 2009.
Rosenthal (SDTX) hired a Texas '08 grad.
Miller has hired for 2009-2010.
Rodriguez (San Antonio) has hired for 08-09.
Jack has started offering interviews
Means (NDTX) is not hiring for an '09 position
Furgeson (W.D. Tx.) is not hiring for '09.
Anyone hear anything from the S.D. Tx. today?
Anything from any Texas District today?
Rosenthal has started scheduling.
can you give us more details on the Rosenthal scheduling?
Rosenthal sent out emails today scheduling interviews. Godbey has made phone calls.
12:33 -- what are your creds? If you don't mind sharing.
12:33 - UTexas Law Review; top 10%ish [they don't rank]
12:18 - Top ten law school, law review ed board, ~top 20% (school doesn't rank)
Any word on Atlas, Hoyt, Ellison or Lake (S.D.Tx.)?
any word of fitzwater or nd-dallas judges other than godbey?
does anyone know about Sparks or Yeakel?
Atlas has scheduled interviews for Thursday and Friday.
Any info on McBryde or other ND judges?
Heard from Cardamone (WDTX) and Lynn (NDTX) today.
What credentials does Cardone look for?
I get the feeling that things were quiet in Texas today, agree?
I sure hope so...

Ellison is has begun offering interviews
Lake is full on Thursday and Friday already - done with interview spots.
Atlas is full as well

Still seem like a quiet day?
Rainey (SDTX) called and scheduled interviews. Not sure what the deal is with the rest of the St. Apparently people in S. Texas are having issues scheduling out-of-staters because of worries about Ike.
kazen, lindsay, or ward?
Alvarez?
Gilmore (Houston) called
Davis (EDTX) has emailed through OSCAR. Interviews scheduled for Friday (at least).
Per OSCAR Judge Barbara Lynn has filled her position.
ANYONE hear from Schell or McBryde?
McBryde has made calls.
Which judges still have spots or particularly have not interviewed?
So Cardone hired both spots according to OSCAR emails. Any clue what schools? How did this go unreported? Come on people.
Ellison is done
Cardone hired from Michigan for one spot. Not sure about the other.
Rainey doesn't make any offer until he interviews all scheduled applicants.
I heard one of Cardone's picks was from Harvard.
Anyone know if Rosenthal finished hiring?
Clark interviewed but has not hired. Heartfield has not interviewed. Several of the Houston judges had interviews scheduled on the 11th, but with Ike, who knows when they'll finish hiring.
So how do you get someone from Harvard or Michigan to come to El Paso???
Move it away from Mexico. Or convince the cartels to stop putting peoples' heads on spikes just across the border. Either of those would be a step forward.
Rosenthal isn't finished hiring but I think she's done interviewing & will choose from the candidates she's interviewed.
As for the Ike problems, yeah, I think a few judges did phone interviews for out-of-towners. Ike was bad; I hope everyone is alright.
El Paso = great weather, great music, great food, but clerks really come for the great judges and the unique docket.
Justice (Senior WD-TX) hired from Texas and is done hiring.
Anyone know about Martinez in El Paso?
Ditto on Martinez?
Martinez already hired one UT 3L semi-off plan, so there was only one spot to begin with.
Still no words on the Dallas judges?
Solis says they won't be interviewing for a month or so.
martinez has filled both his spots.
has anyone heard from kazen?
kazen is done interviewing
Rosenthal is done.
McBryde is done - found out via a very nice rejection letter
How do you know Rosenthal is done?
Any word on Hoyt?
I spoke with Rosenthal's chambers this morning. She is done hiring.
re rosenthal, that's weird. I have yet to be notified either way.
Are Houston chambers still closed because of Ike? I called a district court judge's chambers today and only got his voicemail.
Followup on Rosenthal - she has hired & notified. Her chambers were open, but don't know about other judges. Good luck everyone.
Hughes from Houston is calling for interviews
Montalvo in Texas hired from American University.
Hittner from Houston is calling for interviews.
Kazen is finished hiring.
Any word on Folsom, Lindsay, O'Connor, or Ward?
What about Hudspeth?
Any information on Heartfield? (e.d.) or Solis? (n.d)
Ward hired a UT 3L. Hudspeth is currently interviewing, hasn't made a decision yet.
Has anyone heard from Solis yet? Or is the latest word still that he will not start interviewing for a month?
Is Ward done hiring?
Sparks's position has flamed out.
Robinson (NDTX) won't hire until very late (November/December/January).
any word on gilmore?
Rainey? Solis?
Rainey has hired, although I don't know where from. Solis has made some calls to schedule interviews.
Folsom is still interviewing.
Hanen has hired.
Rainey hired from Indiana-Bloomington.
What about hanen? Where did he hire from?
Folsom still interviewing, seriously?
Boyle isn't hiring until January
Anyone hear from Schell??
Hanen hired from William and Mary. Hudspeth has also hired.
Email from Folsom last week said he has one more interview this week. Seriously.
Hoyt is still reviewing applications (hasn't contacted anyone). Hittner has not yet begun interviewing. Harmon is going to interview early next year for her 09-10 clerk and has just opened up applications for a 1 year 1 beginning in about a month.
Got a rejection card in the mail from Atlas saying she's hired.
Nothing new on Hoyt?
Anyone hear from Kinceade?
Any news on Solis?
News on Hittner?
hughes hired
solis?
I know Judge Solis has the Holy Land re-trial in his court right now, so that could be why it appears no one has heard back from him. Is there anyone who interviewed with him that have accepted other offers or heard back?
I have a friend who interviewed with him, but has not heard anything back.
Any updates on Solis?
No news on Solis here. The Holy Land Trial is in jury deliberations right now though, so may be we will hear something soon.
Has anyone that interviewed with Solis heard back, or are all these posters people who are still waiting to see if they get an interview scheduled?
That is a good question (see post above). I interviewed and have not heard anything back. May be we could get an idea of how many people interviewed with Solis and are waiting to hear back. Count me as 1.
Same here - I interviewed with him and have not heard anything.
No news on Solis clerkships??? But the jury reached a verdict in the Holy Land trial so news could be coming...I hope.
Anyone hear anything on O'Connor (NDTX)? Word is he is looking for an immediate law clerk hire.
Any news on Solis?
I've heard that O'Connor has started offering interviews.
My friend accepted a position with Judge Solis this morning, so it looks like he has hired at least one clerk.
hoyt will start letting people know if they get a (phone) interview within the next 2 weeks.
hoyt hired
Any news on Lindsay?
per chambers, Judge Sam Lindsay has hired.
Looks like Magistrate Judge Mazzant is hiring out of Sherman....
Does anyone know if Mazzant hired?
Randy Crane, Southern District of Texas, made a last-minute hire for 2009-2010 term: a Notre Dame 2009 graduate.
