Judges will probably start accepting applications in September for 09-10. Look on the court's website for clerkship information.
According to the website only three CAAF judges are hiring for 2009-10 (Effron, Erdmann, and Stucky). But, CJ Effron is hiring three clerks. Also of note, CJ Effron's term expires on 30 Sept 11, so anyone signing up for two years with him will be among his last class of clerks.
I have heard that he hires one at a time. He interviews one person, and then gives an offer, and waits to hear if that person accepts before trying to fill other vacancies. Could be hearsay...but thought I would pass along.

Anyone know if the three judges have called for interviews yet?
Got a card from Judge Stucky yesterday, saying that they received my app, and that he anticipates hiring by December 1, 2008.
Same. I also got a nice letter from Judge Erdmann that he received my application and will "keep me apprised." Anyone hear anything from Effron?
Got the same card from Stucky and letter from Erdmann, but nothing from Effron yet.
Has anyone heard anything from Effron yet?
Effron has hired at least one clerk.

Got a letter from Stucky today saying that he's filled his one open clerkship.
Have the letter from Erdmann, but haven't heard if he's interviewing.
Still no news at all from Effron.
Effron is done. Sent letters on Thursday.
Same on Effron. The CAAF website said the CJ had three clerkships, but the letter made it sound like he only had one opening all along.
Judge Ryan is accepting applications.
Ryan is making calls.
Ryan reportedly hired an Iowa alum (already an attorney).
Erdmann's website says he's no longer accepting applications for Fall 2009. Does anyone know if he is interviewing, or has already hired?
Has anyone hear anything about Erdmann? Is he interviewing? Has he hired?
Letter from Erdmann received last week indicates that he's hired.
